Hindurwa means "be changed".
Meet Enric*, Brian, Robert and Emma, they are the musical group called Hindurwa. Each one lived desperate lives as orphans, sometimes in foster homes, sometimes on the streets. They have slept alone in strange places. They have known the pain of cold and hunger. They prayed for hope.
By God's grace, they were each discovered and sponsored by Africa New Life Ministries and given a chance to return to school. Their lives were completely transformed by God, as they put their faith Him.
Their music is a gentle mixture of tribal rythm and harmony, and soulful lyrics. They sing about the hardships of their lives, and how God has the power to change anyone. They mix up their performances with rousing traditional drumming and dance. To order a Hindurwa CD, click on the link above.
*Did we misspell his name? No! Eric has changed his name to Enric Sifa, for performance purposes, to remove the trouble his fans had over prouncing his birth name, Eric Nshimiyumuremyi. The addition of "N" to Eric is to remember his real Rwandan name, Nshimiyumuremyi, meaning thanksgiving. Sifa also means thanksgiving in Swahili. |
